Big day for the COOLJAPAN ecosystem.
Today we shipped three major 0.x releases that push the boundaries of what’s possible with pure Rust — no C, no FFI, no patents, no servers.
1. OxiHuman 0.1.0 — Pure Rust MakeHuman, fully client-side
Repository: https://github.com/cool-japan/oxihuman
The first production-ready parametric human body generator that runs entirely in the browser (WASM + WebGPU) or natively — with zero data ever leaving your machine.
- Privacy by construction: base mesh is always a bodysuit
- Full morphing engine, FACS, age progression, physics
- glTF/GLB/VRM export + wgpu viewer
- 31,318 passing tests
Try the WASM demo right now (no install needed).
2. OxiGDAL 0.1.1 — Pure Rust GDAL replacement (just released)
Repository: https://github.com/cool-japan/oxigdal
Cloud-native geospatial library with 11 format drivers, full CRS engine, SIMD algorithms, S3/GCS support, and WASM ready.
3. OxiRS 0.2.1 — Semantic Web + GraphQL + AI Reasoning
Repository: https://github.com/cool-japan/oxirs
JVM-free Jena/Fuseki replacement. Full SPARQL 1.2, GraphRAG, SHACL, LLM-augmented querying — all in one <50MB binary.
All three are 100% pure Rust, fail0 + Clippy0, and part of the 576-crate COOLJAPAN stack.
What’s next? More releases this week.
